On Monday, the FCC released a new proposal that would finally close a loophole that keeps authorities from pursuing scammers that target US callers. As we all know, Robocalling and call spoofing has increasingly become a huge issue. Scammers will even spoof the number of a trusted organization in order to steal from unsuspecting victims. The Truth in Caller ID Act prohibits anyone from transmitting misleading or inaccurate caller ID information ("spoofing") with the intent to defraud, cause harm, or wrongly obtain anything of value.
